1 Loading pictures using the Coppermine Photo Gallery
The Coppermine Photo Gallery provides superior capabilities for maintaining photo galleries. In order to load pictures, a user must be logged on both as an administrator and as a user. Other configurations may exist, but this is the default configuration for Sassafras Systems clients for security purposes.

To login as a user, access the Your_Account module on your site, as shown in the example below. Enter your user ID, password and the security code (if required), then click the Login button.

After successfully logging in, you will see something similar to the figure below:

2 Login as the Nuke administrator
Next, login as the PHP-Nuke administrator by accessing the admin page in your browser. Sassafras Systems clients use an additional layer of security that requires multiple authentication points before being able to access the administration functions.

The first authentication is referred to as HTTP Admin Authentication, which is shown in the figure below. Simply enter your HTTP Admin Authentication user ID and password, which is different from your PHP-Nuke Admin user ID and password and from your PHP-Nuke user ID and password.

Enter the HTTP Admin Authentication user ID and password, then click the OK button.

After successfully logging through HTTP Admin Authentication, you will be asked to enter the PHP-Nuke Admin user ID and password, the second layer of authentication shown in the figure below. After entering the user ID, password and security code (if required), click the Login button.

3 Configuring the Photo Gallery
After logging as a PHP-Nuke Administrator, you will see the PHP-Nuke Administration page, shown below.

Unlike other PHP-Nuke modules, configuring the Coppermine Photo Gallery and loading new pictures is handled through the coppermine module. To access the module, click the appropriate link from your website menu to display a screen like the one below.

On this screen, you may create new photo albums and change the configuration of the Coppermine Photo Gallery module, but this may affect the operation of your site, and is normally handled by support.

For purposes of this tutorial, the focus is on uploading pictures, which can be done by clicking the Upload Picture link (shown above the images) to specify a picture for uploading to the site.

4 Uploading pictures to the gallery
Click the Upload Picture link (shown above the images) in the coppermine module to specify a picture for uploading to the site. This will display the Upload Picture page shown below.

Select the appropriate album from the drop-down selections, then click the Browse button to locate the desired picture as shown in the figure below. Please note that pictures that exceed 800 by 600 pixels are generally to large for the average viewer. Pictures should be in the .jpg, .gif or .png formats. Do NOT upload .BMP images as these take up excessive space and slow down your site visitor's experience.

Browse to and double-click the desired photo, then click the Open button (if necessary) to return to the Upload Picture page.

5 Uploading pictures to the gallery - part 2
After selecting the desired picture, specify the remaining information, including the title, description (not required) and keyword (not required) as shown in the figure below.

Then click the Upload Picture button to upload the image. Thumbnails of the picture will automatically be generated.

The picture will now appear in the photo album to which it was loaded. Congratulations!
